Are you in a lifestyle limbo?
Meaning, is your lifestyle where you want it to be? Or, are you somewhere between…just not quite there?
Many people don’t approach their life the same way they approach education, work or hobbies. Instead, they react to what life throws them and just spinning from issue to issue and from situation to situation.
Begin with the end (goal) in mind. First you need to define what you want your lifestyle to be. Sometimes it is easier to define what you do not want it to be.
I like to define the ideal day, ideal week, ideal month and ideal year.
This is how…
Paint the play by play for the ideal day, from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep.
Obviously, many days will not be ideal. The goal here is to set the intention for the ideal day so that you have a reference standard. From that, you can strive for more of the ideal activities and less of the non-ideal.
Once you get the ideal day laid out, move on to the week, month and year. Let’s talk about the year – what do I mean by the ideal year?
I recommend people to create a master “ideal calendar” that has everything you would do, attend, experience in the next year. I mean everything. For me it includes car shows, trade shows, family events, vacations, experiences, masterminds, cruises and more. The idea is to see the year as if you had nothing to do except to accomplish everything you want to from an experience perspective. You’ll quickly get to the point where you see the huge opportunity to live life and experience what you want to.
From there you begin to line up things to do the things on the calendar.
